To build a communication platform between students from different universities, helping students from other universities improve the understanding about the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the graduate enrollment policy of the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering is an important step to attract more excellent students to further study in Lanzhou University. From July 16 to 19, 2021, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and the State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry jointly held the 2021 National Excellent College Students Chemistry Summer Camp.

This summer camp was an offline activity. 29 students participated in this camp from more than 18 universities, such as Xinjiang University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Northwest University, Southwest University and Ningxia University.

On July 16, the opening ceremony was held in Room 101, the lecture hall of the second Chemistry building in the morning. Professor Tang Yu, vice dean of the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, the Changjiang Scholar and, and Professor Shao Xiangfeng, doctoral advisor and deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry attended the opening ceremony hosted by Jia Jing, deputy secretary of Party Committee in the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering.

Professor Tang Yu introduced the development and characteristics discipline of the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering from the aspects of the history development, talent cultivation, the advantages of discipline development and the composition of teaching staff.

Professor Shao Xiangfeng introduced the basic situation of the State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry.

Afterwards, students visited the Nuclear Magnetic Hall and Analysis and Testing Center with various instruments and equipment.

During three day, students experienced the excellent historical heritage, strong academic atmosphere, rigorous scientific research style and strong educational strength of the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering through visits to laboratories, introduction of secondary disciplines, tutors' meetings, academic reports and interviews etc.

At the same time, it was helpful to enhance the understanding of the subject and the tutor, strengthen professional knowledge, and inspire research innovation.

At the closing ceremony of the camp on July 19, the students felt the enthusiasm of teachers and students from Lanzhou University and the desire for enrolling outstanding young students. They sincerely hoped to have the opportunity to further their studies in the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry.

At present, most excellent students signed a letter of intention to become the student with exemption of examination with tutors based on their own interests and research fields.

The summer camp of the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou has enjoyed a good reputation and wide influence in universities for many years, which has promoted communication and exchange.

The successful holding of this summer camp has publicized the enrollment policy of our college, attracted a large number of excellent students to study in Lanzhou, and provided a boost for the double-first-class construction of Lanzhou University and the follow-up development of the college. We firmly believe that with the joint efforts of all the teachers and students, the Collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Lanzhou University will carry on the past and make a bright future.
