In order to form the mechanism of three-level linkage including Lanzhou University, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering/ State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry and the applicants, it is crucial to pay attention to all the researchers and implement precise principles and classified guidance, and to improve the quality of applications, thereby increasing the rate of applying and promoting the capability of scientific research. The first Writing Training Report of National Natural Science Foundation Application was co-organized by the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry on November 19. Professor Wang Wei, director of State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry, made a presentation and explained the related policy and standards. The report was chaired by Vice President Xi Pinxian. Dean Wang Chaoping and Shi Nan of the office science and technology attended. The mainly college's staff who engaged in scientific research besides teachers and students interested in the theme participated in the report.

Professor Wang Wei focused on seizing opportunities, conforming to the standards, and constructing the logical structure, and he gave the vivid examples of daily life to explain common misunderstandings, thesis structure, project basis, research content, foundation and working conditions. He emphasized on the premise of seeking external support, focusing on the background of the era, and establishing the personal research mission on the front of the trend of national prosperity, teaching and educating, and the development of human civilization. Starting from improving our own competitiveness, upholding high scientific standards and high cognition requirements, the researchers should focus on stable and long-term development as the core aim, select the themes from multi dimensions, and capture characteristic innovation points, while optimizing the structure to make the hierarchy clear. Professor Wang Wei proposed that logic is the most important guiding ideology and carefulness is the key to success and said that everyone should adhere to the concept of "keeping integrity and pursue innovation, harmony in diversity", and form a dynamic cognition of "why only I can do that", so as to meet all changes by remaining unchanged.

 In order to accurately solve the confusion, a number of questions about scientific researchers have been collected before the report, Professor Wang Wei answered those one by one, and hoped that he would learn about the problems that the researchers wanted to solve urgently through various channels and provide corresponding help afterwards.

Finally, Dean Wang Chaoping of the office science and technology summarized the whole report and affirmed the active organization of the report and advocated learning from Professor Wang Wei's serious attitude, and said that from the basic situation of the college, the National Natural Science Foundation has a lot of room for application and development. He hoped after the effect of this report the scientific researchers' hard work can have a good achievement.

The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry will continue to make efforts to expand communication and learning channels, uninterruptedly meet the needs of scientific researchers and ensure that the competitiveness of scientific researchers will steadily increase.
