Recently, Thieme Academic Publishing Group announced the list of winners of the 2023 Thieme Chemistry Journals Award. Professor Yang Ming, collage of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering and State Key Laboratory of Applied Organic Chemistry, Lanzhou University，was successfully selected as one of the winners of the 2023 Academic Award.

Established in 1999, the prize is presented annually to emerging researchers early in their independent academic careers from around the world. The winner is chosen exclusively by the editorial board members of Synthesis, Synlett and Synfacts journals. It is awarded to young scholars who have made outstanding achievements and have great potential for development in chemical synthesis, catalysis and other related fields of organic chemistry, aiming to recognize and encourage the young generation of organic chemists. In 2023, a total of 87 people from all over the world were awarded the "Thieme Chemistry Journals Award" Academic Award.

Professor Yang Ming joined Lanzhou University in 2019. He is mainly engaged in the research of the total synthesis of natural products, the methodology of organic synthesis and medicinal chemistry. To date, as first author or corresponding author in J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Nat. Commun. He has published many research papers in important international chemical journals.
