The key laboratory has been based on the research of chemical synthesis of bioactive natural products, which is also the feature and advantage of the key laboratory. In the selection of synthetic target molecules, the complexity and uniqueness of molecular structure are emphasized, guided by biological activities (such as anti-HIV activity, anti-cancer, anti-tumor, etc.). In the development of synthesis methods and strategies, it focuses on the design of multi-functional stereoselective reactions, series reactions, and the application of the concepts of diverse synthesis and bionic synthesis. It mainly carries out research on synthesis, structural modification and structure-activity relationship of complex natural products or analogues and derivatives with important biological functions. On the basis of the previous work, the key laboratory further highlights the characteristics of the whole synthesis of complex natural products and promotes the efficiency, technique and novelty of the whole synthesis route, obtaining original research results in the synthesis of complex terpenes and alkaloids.
