报告人简介

Justin Ragains received his B.S. in Chemistry from Ball State University in 2000.  During his undergraduate studies, he worked in the laboratory of Mohammad Behforouz.  He then joined the laboratory of Jeffrey D. Winkler at the University of Pennsylvania and successfully defended his dissertation in 2006.  During this time, Justin began to develop interests in synthetic photochemistry, studying various aspects of the crossed [2+2] photocycloaddition of vinylogous amides with tethered olefins and allenes.  He then pursued postdoctoral work with Jon Clardy and then Ralph Mazitschek at Harvard Medical School, focusing on various aspects of organic synthesis and chemical biology.  In 2010, Justin began an Assistant Professorship at Louisiana State University.  His current interests include O-glycosylation, C-H functionalization, and organic thin film deposition using visible-light promotion and single-electron transfer processes.
