报告人简介

Professor Jong Seung KIM received a PhD from the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Texas Tech University under the supervision of Professor Richard Bartsch. After one-year as a postdoctoral fellow at University of Houston under the guidance of Professor Jay Kochi, he joined the faculty at Konyang University in 1994. He moved to Dankook University in 2003. In 2007, he accepted a professorship in the Department of Chemistry at Korea University in Seoul. He has already been a member of Korean Academy of Sciences & Technology since 2014 and was elected as vice president of Korean Chemical Society in 2016.

Professor KIM’s group is well known for small molecule based drug delivery system, studies on Alzheimer’s disease, fluorescence sensors and host-guest chemistry etc. He is the recipient of numerous awards and honors such as ChemPlusChem Award (Wiley, 2016). To date, Professor KIM has published over 380 scientific publications and got total citation number of 19,000 (H-index: 71). He is also a listed inventor on over 70 Korean and international patents. Meanwhile, Professor KIM serves as the Editor for many famous journals as well.
