报告人简介
Professor David A. Leigh was born in 1963. In 2009, he was elected member of the National Academy Science of the UK and the Commonwealth (Fellow of Royal Society (London)). Professor Leigh is the Sir Samuel Hall Professor of Chemistry at the University of Manchester and a Royal Society Research Professor (2016-2026). In 2015, he was elected to Academia Europaea, the European Academy of Science, Humanities & Letters. He was selected as 1000 Talents ′Topnotch Talent′ Professor in 2017. He is an associate editor of Chemical Science, and a member of the international advisory board for Angew. Chem. and ACS Central Science. Professor Leigh received numerous awards including the Royal Society of Chemistry Interdisciplinary Award (2004), the Wolfson prize for research and nanoscience and technology award (2005), the International Izatt-Christensen Macrocycle prize in chemistry (2007), Royal Society Tilden award (2010), and the Royal Society Pedler award (2014).
Professor Leigh's research has focused on the use of new methods to construct mechanical interlocking structures such as catenanes, rotaxanes and knots, and applying them to molecular motors and molecular machines. He has published 14 papers in Nature and Science, 16 papers in PNAS, Nat. Nanotechnol., Nat. Chem., Nat. Mater. and more than one hundred papers in J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem., etc.
