报告人简介

Professor Thomas Basché studied Chemistry at the Ludwig Maximilians-University in Munich from 1978-1985 and received his Ph.D. there in 1990. After postdoctoral studies (1991-1992) with Nobel Laureate W. E. Moerner at the IBM Almaden Research Center, San José, CA, he returned to LMU in 1992 where he finished his habilitation in 1995. In 1997 he was appointed a Chair in Physical Chemistry at Johannes Gutenberg-University, Mainz. His research interests comprise optical spectroscopy and microscopy with an emphasis on single molecule spectroscopy. These techniques are employed to study the photophysics of organic dye molecules and energy transfer in dye aggregates. As of now, Prof. Basché has authored over 150 research publications, which include 3 papers Nature, 1 paper in Nat. Nanotechnol. and two books.
