On February 17, 2023, the 2021 and 2022 annual Awards Conference of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation was held in Beijing，and 112 outstanding scientists were awarded. Academician Tu Yongqiang was honored with the 2022 Science and Technology Progress Award of the Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation.

Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation is sponsored by four Hong Kong patriotic financial industrialists, He Shanheng, Liang Qiuju, He Tian and Li Guowei who co-donated and set up public welfare science and technology reward fund in 1994. Its purpose is to promote the development of China's science and technology, and to reward who has obtained outstanding achievement and innovation in science and technology. There are "Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Achievement Award", "Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Progress Award" and "Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation Science and Technology Innovation Award" awarded once a year.
